Uprising After great pain, a formal feeling comes…This is the Hour of Lead— Remembered, if outlived, As Freezing persons, recollect the snow- First—chill—then stupor—then the letting go— -Emily Dickinson

I’ve lived in green With glowing wings at night; I stay unseen Kept in mind but out of sight. Places I have been; With pretty wings, a lonely flight; But in between the sound and silence I thought I might Bridge the great ravine, See the great unseen, Brave the in between. People I have been, With broken wings, a troubled flight, Now I stay unseen, But I won’t stay out of sight. I’ve lived in green With glowing wings at night A brilliant sheen With wings like northern lights. -Zaki Andoh
